Kibikoya
吉備子屋 浅草店
A welcome pause during a walk around Asakusa, Kibikoya serves freshly boiled kibi dango tossed in fragrant kinako alongside charming peach-bell charms.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set along a narrow lane close to Senso-ji temple, Kibikoya draws passersby with its kibi dango made fresh to order. Rather than resting in a display case, the millet dumplings are boiled on the spot and generously coated in aromatic kinako roasted soybean flour, creating a warm, tender bite with an elastic chew.
Each skewer holds small, bite-sized rounds, sold in manageable portions of 3 or 5 skewers. With their mild, unpretentious sweetness, they make an easy choice when you want a light, walkable treat without feeling weighed down during a tour of the neighborhood.
Beside the signature sweets, the compact shop features little souvenirs such as delicately colored peach-shaped bells and traditional amulets. Accepting credit cards and electronic payments, Kibikoya offers an effortless stop for an authentic taste of old Asakusa.
